StageSync, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use StageSync ("the Platform"). By using StageSync, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information

  • • Name, email address, and password when you register
  • • Profile information including city, state, bio, and photos
  • • Google profile information if you sign in with Google
  • • Role (Musician or Venue) and associated details

Usage Information

  • • Gigs you post, apply to, or book
  • • Messages sent through the platform
  • • Ratings and reviews you submit or receive
  • • Media files you upload

Device and Location Information

  • • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • • Geographic location (city/state) you provide
  • • GPS coordinates if you grant location permission for distance filtering
  • • Push notification tokens if you enable notifications

3. How We Use Your Information

  • • To operate and improve the StageSync platform
  • • To match Musicians with relevant gig opportunities
  • • To facilitate bookings and communications between users
  • • To calculate and display trust scores and ratings
  • • To send push notifications about bookings, messages, and new gig drops
  • • To process subscription payments through Stripe
  • • To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
  • • To comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Between users: Your profile name, location, genres, and trust scores are visible to other users as part of normal platform operation
  • Stripe: Payment information is processed by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy
  • Supabase: Our database and authentication provider stores your account data
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users

5. Data We Do Not Share

  • • We never expose direct contact information (email, phone) between Musicians and Venues
  • • We never sell user data to advertisers or third parties
  • • Private messages are only visible to conversation participants
  • • Payment details are never stored on our servers — handled entirely by Stripe

6. Location Data

If you grant location permission, we use your GPS coordinates to enable distance-based filtering of gig opportunities. Your exact coordinates are stored securely and are never displayed to other users — only your city and state are visible on your profile. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.

7. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver notifications about bookings, messages, and new gig drops. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or the StageSync Settings page. We do not use notification tokens for advertising purposes.

8. Media and Uploads

Photos, banner images, and gig images you upload are stored on Supabase Storage and are publicly accessible via URL. Do not upload images that contain sensitive personal information. You can remove your images at any time through the Edit Profile page.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for platform analytics.

You have the right to:

  • • Correct inaccurate information through your profile settings
  • • Delete your account and associated data
  • • Export your data upon request
  • • Opt out of push notifications at any time

11. Cookies and Tracking

StageSync uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. Our authentication is powered by Supabase which uses secure HTTP-only cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

We also use cookie-based affiliate and referral tracking to attribute signups to ambassadors and marketing partners. When you visit StageSync through a referral link, we store a cookie containing the referral code for up to 30 days. We also record an anonymized, hashed version of your IP address solely to prevent duplicate click counting. This data is never sold or shared with third parties and is used only for internal attribution reporting.

12. Fraud Prevention & IP Logging

To protect the integrity of the platform, we log hashed IP addresses associated with account creation and login activity. This data is used to detect abuse, prevent fake accounts, and enforce our Terms of Service. Raw IP addresses are never stored — only irreversible cryptographic hashes. Accounts flagged for suspicious activity may be soft-flagged or permanently banned at our discretion.

13. Payment Escrow & Stripe Connect

Booking payments are processed through Stripe and held in escrow until a gig is confirmed complete by both parties. Musician payouts are facilitated through Stripe Connect, which requires musicians to submit identity verification information directly to Stripe. StageSync never receives or stores banking details, SSNs, or payout account information — all financial data is handled exclusively by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

14. Push Notification Tokens & Device Fingerprinting

In addition to push notification tokens, StageSync uses device fingerprinting techniques to detect and prevent abuse of free trial offers and promotional features. Fingerprint data is stored in hashed form and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

15. Analytics & Activity Tracking

StageSync tracks user activity including last active timestamp, gig application history, booking history, and platform engagement metrics. This data is used to calculate trust scores, reliability scores, and performance scores that are displayed to other users as part of normal platform operation. Aggregated analytics are used internally to improve the platform and may be shared in anonymized form with investors or partners.

16. Children's Privacy

StageSync is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account promptly.

17. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of StageSync after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
